PM Modi gifts Metro on Navratri

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Gujarat for two days on September 29 and 30. After that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hand over the much awaited metro train in Navratri for Ahmedabadites. While there were chances of launching the metro train before the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the metro train on the Thaltej to Vastral village corridor on September 30. Preparations have been started by Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the police system for the start of the metro train.

The first phase of the metro train is 40 km

The first phase of the Ahmedabad metro run is 40 km long, in which the metro set will run on two corridors namely East and West and North and South. 32 stations were included in the I. phase. The east-west corridor is 21.16 km, from Thalatej village to Vastral Apparel Park, with 17 stations. The north-south corridor will be 18.87 km, from Vasana APMC to Motera village, with 15 stations.

You can reach Kankaria in just 7 minutes by metro

The highlight of this 21 km long corridor is that the metro trains cross the river and also pass under the city. The train passes under the busy traffic area of the city and exits at Kankaria East. The metro train is to run 6.5 kilometers underground from Shahpur Darwaza to Kankaria East. Shahpur, Ghi Kanta, Kalupur and Kankaria East will have a total of 4 stations in this underground tunnel. Currently, if one wants to go to Kankaria from Shahpur by car, it takes 30 minutes to go to Delhi Darwaza, Kalupur, Sarangpur and Kankaria Zoo, but a Metro train takes only 7 minutes to reach Kankaria.
